Delany's Chemist New Year American Tournament 2007
On Saturday 20th January 2007 the annual Delany's Chemist New Year American Tournament took place. In preparation for the upcoming Spring League the format was meant to be Mens & Ladies Doubles but due to a small organisational oversight turned into Mixed Doubles. The Tournaments Committee apologizes for any inconvenience caused. It was a fine evening for tennis with the weather playing its part. Congratulations to all the winners who all went home smelling beautiful with all the lovely prizes of perfume, after shave and various other shower gels and soaps. Thanks again to Mr. & Mrs. Percy Delany for their sponsorship of the event and also to Jim Delany for presenting the prizes on the night.

AN EVENING ON "HEALTHY LIVING" |
On Wednesday 24th January, Dr. Mark Rowe and Ms. Vivienne Keller gave a highly informative talk on Healthy Living and How to Look After Yourself. There was a very large turnout. Mark discussed in detail the importance of diet in looking after one's body while Vivienne gave a great talk on the importance of exercise in overall general health. She gave some very useful tips on the importance of warming up and warming down and how to avoid sports injuries as the body ages and loses some of it capability.

After the event the Chairman of the club, Mr. Pat Sheridan, was presented with a brand new CARDIAC DEFIBRILLATOR UNIT by Dr. Mark Rowe. This unit, costing over €2,000, will be stored in a special emergency case located on the wall downstairs in the clubhouse and will be the first line of resuscitation in the event someone suffers a cardiac event while in the club. On behalf of the club we would like to extend our most sincere thanks to Dr. Rowe for this extremely generous donation.

CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The annual general meeting of the club took place on Tuesday, 13th March, 2007 @ 8:00 p.m. All motions on the agenda were passed and the committee elected can be found in the committee section of the website.
