TRAMORE FRIENDLY CHALLENGE

On Friday, 2nd September "The Friday Night Club" played the first leg of the Tramore Challenge. Of the eight mixed doubles pairings, St. Anne's won 6 with Tramore winning the remaining 2. Overall St. Anne's takes a very healthy lead in overall games won (81-52) into the away leg which is to be played on Friday, 14th October in Tramore Tennis Club. After the tennis all players and guests were treated to an excellent spread in the clubhouse. It was noted by some that Martin Stockdale's homemade pavlova was a lot better than his tennis on the night!! Good man Stockie!! Thanks to all the members who prepared the really excellent food and contributed to an excellent night.

An additional challenge for the Friday Night Club has also been laid down by some of the "old faithfuls". 8 mixed doubles pairing are being sought to take on the regulars on 7th October. Anyone interested in playing should contact Paul Furlong.

The team against Tramore was: Bryan Morrison (capt.), Eleanor Meaney, Bridget O'Shea, Martin Stockdale, Phyllis Furlong, Mary Halpin, Robert Leslie, Eamonn McGettigan, Aidan Hackett, Nick Mulcahy, Kathleen Bolger, Enda Doherty, Tina Connolly, Denis O'Shea, Trish Whelan and Jean Brosnan.
